Wedding at Prairie Homestead Weddings in Altona, MB | Stephanie & Adrian
Venue
It was a beautiful day despite the cold and moist weather. When I first meet Stephanie and Adrian, they told me how beautiful the venue is. I don’t have to repeat myself and say they were 100% right. It was my first time to photograph a wedding at Prarie Homestead Weddings, and it amazed me how beautiful the venue is. I have no idea if they talked to other photographers or where they got the ideas but let me tell you that, it’s a paradise to photograph there.
First Look
Stephanie and Adrian decided to do the first look before the ceremony. I always prefer it over first look when she walks down the aisle. Let me explain why. If you do the first look before the ceremony its all about you two. No one else is distracting plus you turn around and here he/she is. The emotions and reactions are instant. You can complement each other, laugh, hug, kiss, do whatever you feel. But when she walks down the aisle there is so much pressure; all the people are looking.
On top of that, you see your groom/bride from far, and you have to wait. Plus she walks to slow. Slow for the grooms perspective but to fast from the photographers perspective. And when your bride is at the front, you have to hold everything back.
That’s what I think about the first look. Do whatever you want and prefer. You can see a photo from the first look and will maybe understand why I feel that way. When I tell them to turn around to each other, my camera is going like a machine gun to capture the moment.
Wedding
We had a blast and were so happy about the heated tent because we could use it to warm up and go back outside to take some more photos. Everything was well planned and every detail fitted to the other. Earth Buds crafted the wedding bouquet perfectly, and it suited the theme and the colors. Freemans rented all the tuxes through Coop Fashion.
If you didn’t book a photographer yet for your big day, please do yourself a favor and take some notes from that post.
